Information on the Cavan house league soccer program2025 House League Division
The 2025 season starts the week of May 26, 2025 and ends the week of August 11, 2025. All Games are played at the same time & same location every week.
Season End Festival for U6 – U12 Divisions on Saturday August 16, 2025, at Maple Leaf Park. The Festival will include Trophies/Medals, pizza, food trucks, a BBQ, photo booth, bouncy castles & more!

2025 Recreational Game Days & Locations
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
When you play with MLCFC Youth house league you choose your field location when registering and will play at the same location and at the same time every week.
Adults will play at Maple Leaf Park on Fridays at 6:30 or 7:45 p.m. (where possible the schedule will have alternating kick off times to equalize the number of early/late games for every team).

U4 Mixed (2021/2022)

- 5 v 5
- 20 minute skills | 5 minute halftime | 20 minute scrimmage
- $110 registration fee (includes uniform (T-shirt, shorts, socks), ball, sling bag & year end award)
- Game Days & Locations:
- Crestwood: Tuesdays (6:00 p.m.) OR Saturdays (9:30 a.m.)
- Maple Leaf Park: Wednesdays (5:30 p.m.)
- No games week of June 23-27
- We do not require cleats for the U4 age group, however, shin guards are required.
U6 Boys (2019/2020)
- 11 week season – beginning week of May 26, 2025 (ends week of August 11)
- Players born in 2019 & 2020
- 5 v 5 (15 Minute Warm up | 5 Minute halftime | 30-Minute scrimmage)
- $155 registration fee (includes uniform (Jersey, shorts, socks), ball, sling bag, year-end festival with trophy & pizza)

Where and when are games played?
**Games are played at the same time & same location every week**
(based on the division and location you register your player for)
U4 MIXED (2021/2022) option of 2 locations: Maple Leaf Park (Wednesdays @ 5:30pm) or Crestwood Secondary School (Tuesdays @ 6:00pm & Saturdays @ 9:30am).
U6 GIRLS (2019/2020) option of 2 locations: Maple Leaf Park (Wednesdays@ 6:20pm) or Crestwood Secondary School (Thursdays @ 6:00pm & Saturdays @ 10:30am).
U6 BOYS (2019/2020) option of 2 locations: Maple Leaf Park (Wednesdays@ 6:20pm) or Crestwood Secondary School (Thursdays @ 6:00pm & Saturdays @ 10:30am).

Areas of financial assistance may be available from Kid Sport Canada and Canadian Tire JumpStart – Call 1-877-616-6600. Based on your postal code, a Call Centre representative will provide a contact.
Can I make a friend request?
We will make every effort to accommodate a single friend request for transportation purposes.
Siblings in the same age division must be requested to be placed on the same team. Please indicate sibling names on the registration form.
NO FRIEND REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED AFTER APRIL 1ST
What is included with registration?
Each registered player receives a jersey (t-shirt for U4 mixed division), shorts, socks & sling bag.
U4 & U6 players also receive a MLCFC soccer ball for the fun skills & drills training included during their game.
U6-U13 players receive pizza and a Year End Festival on August 16, 2025 at Maple Leaf Park.
All registered players will receive a year end award
What equipment is needed?
We do not require cleats for the U4 age group; however, shin guards are required.
All other age groups: Shin guards are required and cleats are recommended. However, running shoes are just fine for all ages!
What about hats/jewellery?
Maple Leaf Cavan FC is governed by Ontario Soccer, the Canadian Soccer Association and FIFA and is therefore subject to the Laws of the Game. Players are not permitted to wear hats or any type of jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather bands, rubber bands, etc.)
What happens after I register?
You will receive a confirmation email with your registration details.
A coach will be in contact with you 1-2 weeks before game day to let you know which team you are on and where to get your uniform.
What payment options are available?
Registration is Online ONLY with payment by Bank Debit card or credit card. All payments are processed through PayPal but you do not need a PayPal account to process your payment.
What are the age groups for youth players?
The youngest player is birth year 2022 (U4), the oldest player is birth year 2012 (U13). Mixed Adults (25+) is players born 2000 or earlier.
How long does the season last?
U4 Mixed - 11 weeks - starting week of May 26, 2025 and ending week of August 11, 2025 (No games week of June 23)
U6-U13 Divisions - 11 weeks + End of Year Festival - starting week of May 26, 2025 and ending week of August 11, 2025. Year End Festival on August 16, 2025 at Maple Leaf Park (No games week of June 23).
Mixed Adult 25+ - 12 weeks + Year End Tournament - begins week of May 23, 2025 and ends week of August 15 (or August 22). Year End Festival Sunday August 24, 2025 at Maple Leaf Park.
If games are cancelled because of wet field conditions we will extend the season, max 1 game.
As the season starts, please check the schedules page on a regular basis.
What happens during rain/thunderstorms?
Kids love playing during the rain however thunderstorms can be very dangerous. It is the match official’s responsibility to call the game if they feel safety is an issue – this will be done at the field. Games will only be cancelled if the township closes the fields and players will be notified.
Games cancelled due to a field closure (prior to the game start – i.e. this is not applicable when the game is called on the field) will be added to the end of the season (max 1 game)
Games cancelled by the match officials due to thunder will not be added to the end of the season.
Extreme weather announcements issued by Meteorological Services, Environment Canada (e.g. involving tornado watches and warnings) are increasing in frequency. Parents and adult care providers are advised to monitor these alerts and take appropriate action for the safety and well-being of their family. Travel to playing fields should be avoided until the alerts and warnings are lifted. Decisions about whether games will be played will depend on when alerts are lifted.
What happens during extreme heat conditions?
Games will carry on despite the heat. Players will be provided with additional water breaks and we recommend you bring extra water to the field for your player. It is always up to the individual family to decide whether or not to participate during hot weather.
Need a Refund?
No problem. We understand, things happen. After April 1st but before the season begins, there is a $35.00 admin fee when refunding players. As the season starts, if you need a refund we will calculate a pro-rated amount based on the date and number of games left. We will not refund you for the cost of the uniform, bag or ball (U4-U6) – those are yours to keep.

No refunds will be issued after the 2nd week.
